SUMMARY:Catskills Irish Arts Week
DESCRIPTION:Event Information\n\nThe Catskills Irish Arts Week looks forward to celebrating its 31st year as a week-long summer school of traditional Irish music\, song\, and dance under the auspices of the Michael J. Quill Irish Cultural and Sports Centre.  The Catskills Irish Arts Week takes place in East Durham\, New York — the heart of the Irish Catskills. \nEvents and classes are scheduled July 15 to 19\, 2025.  Classes take place mornings from 10:00 am to 11:30 am\, and afternoons from 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm.  Classes occur at assigned venues in the area; class locations are distributed to registrants in advance of Catskills Irish Arts Week.  Classes are available on a full-time (twice a day) or part-time basis (either morning or afternoon classes).  Along with classes\, tuition covers admission to Evening Concerts and Ceilithe by the teaching and performing Faculty; general public/non-registrants are welcome to participate for an admission fee or with purchase of week pass.  The Shamrock House has afternoon lectures from 4:00 to 5:15 pm on topics related to Irish music\, dance and culture; the Shamrock House also hosts a nightly Ceilithe all week (9:00 pm to 12:00 am)\, with Fear A Tí Padraig McEneany.  A barn dance (Wednesday from 7:30 pm to 10:00 pm) is scheduled on the Quill Festival Grounds for all Catskill Irish Arts Week registrants (general public/non-registrants welcome\, with paid admission/week pass purchase).  Concerts with world class performers will take place Monday\, Tuesday\, Thursday and Friday of Arts Week (7:30 pm to 9:30 pm)at the Quill Festival Grounds in the McGrath Pavilion. Participating resorts and pubs will host open sessions galore from 10:00 pm to 12:00 am\, as well as intimate “Listening Room” performances. \nA Finale Festival will be held Saturday July 19th\, 2025 on the festival grounds from 12:00 noon to 6:00 pm; tickets can be purchased in advance.  Saturday Festival Tickets are not part of student registration packets but can be ordered as part of registration process online or through the Quill Office during the week. \nThere is ample parking available at the Quill Festival Grounds and Tir N Og Office at 2267 Route 145\, East Durham\, NY 12423. DESCRIPTION:For detailed information about this event go HERE! \n\n\n\n\nEvent Information / Buy Tickets\n\n\n\n\nThe East Durham Irish Festival\n\n\n\nThe East Durham Irish Festival\, held every Memorial Weekend\, is in its 48th year! It is one of the longest-running Irish festivals in the country. We celebrate the festival on the Michael J. Quill Irish Cultural & Sports Centre grounds\, a non-profit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to maintaining the traditional aspects of our Irish heritage. We present a variety of Irish cultural programs\, both historic and contemporary\, in fine arts\, language\, literature\, theater\, music\, dance\, folk arts\, and sports. \n\n\n\nMemorial Day Weekend: May 23-25\, 2025 \n\n\n\nFriday Night 7:00 pm: Kickoff & Toast to the opening of another festival year at our official festival Beer Garden. Free admission. See details below. \n\n\n\nSaturday: 10:00 am – 10:00 pm \n\n\n\nSunday: Holy Mass 10:00 amSunday: 12:00 noon – 9:00 pm \n\n\n\nEast Durham Irish Festival Grounds2267 Route 145East Durham\, NY \n\n\n\nWhat to Expect\n\n\n\nThe festival is great for all ages\, young & old. We will have many events\, workshops\, and things to do for kids this year in our Kids Tent: Irish crafts\, music lessons\, face painting\, pony rides\, and wild animals. Good Irish food & drink can be found at every corner along with the traditional festival treats. \n\n\n\nStrollers & wagons are encouraged for little ones. Bring a blanket to sit on the lawn\, but chairs and tables are available in all areas of the festival. \n\n\n\nCatholic Mass\n\n\n\nThere will be a Holy Mass on Sunday\, May 25th\, at 10:00 am on the grounds in the main pavilion\, given again this year by Father Fragomeni\, a priest of the Diocese of Albany who has taught since 1990 at the Catholic Theological Union in Chicago. The Mass is free to all. \n\n\n\nBeer Garden\n\n\n\nThis year\, we will kick off the festival Friday night at 6:00 pm in our “Beer Garden”! Come join us for that Irish pub feeling as we toast the opening of another festival year. The Beer Garden will be open for music\, singing songs\, and meeting friends—old & new. All are welcome. Bring your instrument if you have one. Free admission Friday night—just walk in the gate to the Beer Garden. No vendors will be open. \n\n\n\nDonegal Cottage\n\n\n\nOur authentic Donegal Cottage will have its opening day for the season both Saturday & Sunday\, 12:00 – 6:00 pm. Come visit us and step back in time to see how the Irish lived. We’ll burn some turf bricks\, have local artisans\, open sessions all day in and outside the cottage\, and Irish soda bread. Don’t forget to purchase a commemorative brick to be placed in our largest map of Ireland at the cottage too. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease Note: \n\n\n\n\nNo outside food or drink is allowed. No outside alcohol is permitted.\n\n\n\nBags may be subject to inspection.\n\n\n\nNo dogs are allowed except for service dogs.\n\n\n\nHandicapped parking is available\, and the festival is handicapped accessible. The event is held on lawn\, paved\, and gravel areas\, with two large pavilions and several tents for cover.
