Eileen Clune Goodman

Trad Master/Instructor – Tin Whistle

Eileen Clune Goodman is an accomplished wooden flute, whistle, and piano accordion player originally from the Bronx, now based in Northern New Jersey.

With over three decades of involvement in the traditional Irish music scene across the northeastern United States, Eileen has been a cornerstone of sessions, ceilis, and community-based musical gatherings. She studied under two legendary Irish music educators—the late Maureen Glynn and Martin Mulvihill—developing a strong foundation in both melody and style.

For the past twenty years, Eileen has focused primarily on the wooden flute, drawing inspiration from renowned players such as Kevin Crawford, Pat Casey, and the late Mike Rafferty. Her playing reflects a deep commitment to the tradition, combining rhythmic drive with lyrical phrasing.

Eileen has performed widely as a member of the all-women ensemble “The Reel Housewives of Irish Trad” and served as leader of the Green Gates Ceili Band for two decades. She is also a regular session musician with the Bronx-based Doonbeg Social Club, contributing consistently to the living tradition of Irish music in the region.

Dedicated to passing on the tradition, Eileen teaches tin whistle and wooden flute at all levels. Many of her students have advanced to compete and place at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann, reflecting her effectiveness and devotion as an educator.
